My name is Kate McDonough and I am thrilled to be starting another year at Anderson as your child's kindergarten teacher. I have taught kindergarten for 18 years and I absolutely love it! I cannot wait to see all that your child will learn this year! I graduated from College of Charleston with a degree in Early Childhood education. I taught in Charleston for several years where I obtained my Master's Degree in Education with a specialization in reading. In 2016, I received my National Board Certification in Early Childhood Generalist.
My husband and I moved from Charleston, SC to Wilmington, NC in 2015. We couldn't stay away from the ocean! We have 3 fur children (and 4 who perpetually live on in our hearts). When I am not teaching, I enjoy health and fitness, listening to music and going to concerts, going to the pool and beach, and traveling. I love books and I love to read!
I am so excited to be with Ms. McDonough’s class this year! This is my 3rd year at Anderson and with Ms. McDonough. I love being here! I have a BA in Biology and am currently getting my Master’s degree in Forensic Science. Prior to starting at Anderson I stayed home with my 3 kids for 13 years. I’m originally from NJ and moved to Wilmington 3 years ago with my husband and 3 kids. I have two sons, Aidan (15), Declan (12), and a daughter Reagan (8). I am also a mom to 2 Goldendoodles, Koda and Ruby. When I am not with my family or at a soccer game you can be sure I’m doing homework or reading. I am really looking forward to a great year with your kids!
