The school improvement committee works to develop, plan, and implement improvements to school grounds such as landscaping, student seating areas, or school marquee that will provide a more welcoming environment for students and staff.

The school spirit committee coordinates and organizes school-wide events that promote a sense of community and Buccaneer pride such as the PTSA t-shirt design contest, back-to-school football tailgate, open house, etc.

Student Recognition works to promote academic growth for all through program support and recognition of notable student, teacher, and staff achievements. Examples include college scholarships, extra effort awards, AP ice cream social, teacher grants, and more.

The communications committee keeps the Laney community informed of all PTSA events and activities via the PTSA website, email, all-calls, and PTSA Bulletin boards.
Chair: Cyndi Rumora
The membership committee is responsible for encouraging PTSA membership and maintaining the membership database. The committee promotes staff, student, family, and business participation and reaches out to transfer students. They track and keep accurate records of PTSA membership and enter memberships through GiveBacks.

The hospitality committee organizes special treats for the amazing Laney faculty and staff throughout the year such as welcome-back breakfasts, holiday luncheons, teacher appreciation week, and other ways of showing how much they mean to us.
