Acronyms and Terms:
IB: International Baccalaureate
IA: Internal Assessment (A paper scored by the IB teacher)
IO: Internal Oral Assessment (Scored by the IB English teacher)
TOK: Theory of Knowledge
Papers 1,2, and 3: They're actually not papers, they're end of course assessments/tests that students take in May
SL: Standard Level Class (Students need to take 2-3)
HL: High Level Class (Students need to take 3-4)
DP: Diploma Programme
EE: : Extended Essay. During the two years of the IB Program, students write an original essay including research of up to 4000 words on a topic of their choice with supervision from an IB teacher who mentors them in the research for the essay.
C.A.S.: Creativity, Activity, Service. Essentially, students in grades 11 and 12 are required to complete a long term project and at least 18 months of reflection on experiences in the areas of creativity, action and service.
