Apply for Dual Enrollment with CFCC
Dual Enrollment Qualifications:
Be a high school junior or senior when CFCC classes begin;
Have an unweighted high school GPA of 2.8 or higher
If under a 2.8 unweighted and want access to College Transfer Pathways, then you can demonstrate College Readiness in English, Reading, and Math on a college placement test (chart below). See your counselor to review the scores in your file.
Most courses within the CTE and EWD pathways do not require a 2.8 unweighted GPA; if these courses interest you, see Mrs. Pridgen in 704.
To Apply for Dual Enrollment
There are 4 steps:
1. Determine your pathway(s).
2. Complete the application on CFNC and the appropriate Approval Form for your pathway.

STEP 1: Choose a Pathway (the most important step!)
Pathways can be found at https://cfcc.edu/career-and-college-promise/ and you can open the CCP Pathway Options document
3 different pathway options - College Transfer or Career Technical Education (CTE) or Economic & Workforce Development (EWD).
You can select:
One College Transfer Pathway (we highly recommend starting with Associates in Science or Associates in Arts)
One College Transfer Pathway and one CTE or EWD Pathway
Up to two CTE Pathways or two EWD Pathways
You can ONLY take classes within your chosen pathway(s). So, choose the pathway that gives you most of what you're looking to take. You can request to add or change a pathway through Mr. McNamara should your needs change.
Once you have chosen a pathway, WRITE IT DOWN. You will need to know it for Step 2.
We encourage you to talk with your counselor (College Transfer Pathways), Mrs. Pridgen (CTE/WCE Pathways) or Mr. Dave McNamara (CFCC Career Coach) about choosing a pathway before beginning your application.
STEP 2: Complete THE Application & APPROVAL FORM
FOR ECONOMIC & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PATHWAYS, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MRS. PRIDGEN.

Here are the step-by-step instructions for navigating the CFNC application:
Create/log in to your CFNC.org account.
Go to Apply to College, then select Application Hub.
Select Start an Application.
Type in "Cape"; this will cause a pull-down menu to appear.
From the menu for CFCC, select the 2nd option that says "Cape Fear Community College Dual Enrollment (CCP) Application", then click APPLY.
All information with a red * is required. Fill in all the information + your NC Student ID (PowerSchool or Lunch Number), then check for accuracy.
Make sure to select the correct pathway(s)! (From STEP 1)
We recommend you save the online application verification form that comes up after you complete the application, no need to print it.
The screencast below will demonstrate the application process step by step.
Next do the correct Approval Form for your pathway after you have finished the CFNC application.
STEP 3: read the CCP policies & procedures document, then take the quiz.
It is VITAL that you read and understand each statement on this document.
View it HERE.
Read it, then take the CCP Step 3 Quiz (HINT: It's open-note!).
If you get too many incorrect, we can reset your responses. Review the document again and retake the quiz after it's been reset. It is ok to reference the document while taking the quiz!
STEP 4: COMPLETE THE NHCS DUAL ENROLLMENT ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORM
Adobe Form - UNDER CONSTRUCTION, WE WILL UPDATE APPLICANTS WHEN WE HAVE MORE INFORMATION
After you complete Steps 1-4...
Ashley HS and CFCC will review/verify your application materials, checking for accuracy. If something is incorrect or missing we will contact you with directions.
When all your materials have been verified, you will receive an email from CFCC with instructions to set up your CFCC student account (check your Spam or Junk folder!). DOCUMENT YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD.
Follow the directions in that email to access your new MyCFCC student account.
Once in your Dashboard, select Email on the left side to access your new CFCC student gmail account. All further correspondence from and about CFCC courses, fees, activities, etc. will go to this new address. CHECK IT DAILY.
