Hello. I am Scott Dodd. I tell people that I have a 3-D name, and that it would be "odd" if it wasn't.
Although I have had my name my whole life, I only realized this paired oddity was true recently.
Learning is like that.
The concepts, skills, and knowledge are all right there, and we are challenged to discover it all. We have the potential to discover wonderful ideas. ( For more about this, click here. )
But Benjamin Franklin advises us: "As to their STUDIES, it would be well if they could be taught every Thing that is useful, and every Thing that is ornamental: But Art is long, and their Time is short. It is therefore propos’d that they learn those Things that are likely to be most useful and most ornamental. Regard being had to the several Professions for which they are intended."
As I have built my experience growing up on Long Island, studying in Indiana, traveling through Canada, Germany, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Samoa, and throughout the United States, working with students in Georgia (the state), Guam, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, and Virginia, I have focused on learning and teaching those things which are most useful and most ornamental.
