Nominations for Academically and/or Intellectually (AIG) Gifted identification in the New Hanover County Schools may be made by any stakeholder including the students themselves.
While students in all grades participate in nurturing and critical thinking curricula, identification of giftedness begins at third grade. If you know a student in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade that is doing above grade level work and/or shows signs to potentially work successfully in the program, now is a good time to refer that student for AIG identification.
To nominate a student for AIG identification, you will need to fill out the AIG Nomination Form. Click here for the nomination form to print and complete on paper, or complete the Google form to the left.
Also, an email to scott.dodd@nhcs.net stating the desire to nominate can officially begin the nomination process. The completed form will then need to follow.
