Science Olympiad is an opportunity for students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) topics. Science Olympiad functions much like a football or soccer team, requiring preparation, commitment, coaching and practice throughout the year. Teamwork is a required skill in most scientific careers today, and Science Olympiad encourages group learning by designing events that forge alliances.
Why is it important?
At this age, kids are laying the foundation for future science learning. Science Olympiad sparks curiosity, strengthens problem-solving, and shows students how science connects to the real world. Best of all, Science Olympiad continues in middle and high school, giving students the chance to grow their STEM skills, compete at higher levels, and prepare for college and future careers.
Each team will consist of 15 third, fourth, and fifth grade students who have a love for STEM. These students will practice weekly leading up to their competition where their knowledge and skills will be put to the test.
