Practicalities for the retreat
Practicalities for the retreat
Venue: Sauchie Home Farm, Stirling FK7 9QJ, United Kingdom
Sauchie Home Farm offers a relaxing space for rest and renewal and to allow nature in all its forms to flourish. Clare and Val King, the owners, are incredibly welcoming. They created the 'Steading' as a place for activists and anyone doing exhausting work to address the immense challenges we currently face to resource themselves.
Inside the Steading, there’s a spacious flat which will be used by the training team for sleeping etc. but which we can use for small groups work during our time together.
For camping, there is a bunk room with 2 bunk beds and a potting shed that can sleep up to 4 people. There’s also plenty of space to pitch a tent. At this point, we are asking participants to cook their own breakfast and dinner as they wish/can. We can use the kitchen in the flat to cook lunch together but would like to leave it free the rest of the time for the team.
If we are a very small group, we will likely organise our time together as a ‘community-living experiment’, in which case we will likely cook and eat together for all our meals.
For participants who prefer to not camp, there is a Premier Inn M9 J9 10 minutes by car, which has rooms from £55 per person per night.
Remember to select the Premier Inn M9 J9 as there is another Premier Inn in the centre of Stirling.
