We currently offer Mother Tongue or Home Language classes in French, Russian and Japanese after school, as well as in Chinese in our core curriculum time during the school day. We are currently looking to recruit a teacher of German to help us add to this list! We are always looking to develop our programme, as well as the range of languages on offer for learners in Years 1-9.
If your son or daughter regularly uses a language other than English at home and you would like him or her to join other speakers of the language for a weekly class, please indicate your interest through completing this short form. Where three families of children of a broadly similar age group would like their children to take part, we will look to find a teacher and set up a class. Please note, an additional charge of $30 per session is made for afternoon Mother Tongue language classes.

As the annual Chinese Mid Autumn Festival (Mooncake Festival) approaches, we are organising a school wide lantern making exhibition to celebrate. The Mid Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditions in the Chinese cultural calendar and the festival gives thanks for the harvest and is a time for harmonious family reunions. To share this spirit and to promote an appreciation of the local culture, we are requesting for all learners to participate in our lantern making event as their contribution towards the festivities.
We have included some links to videos below to provide some general information on how to make a lantern. However, we do not want to hold back the learners from their own imaginative ideas and creativity! We would particularly like to encourage children to create lanterns using recycled materials. Learners will be asked to make their lanterns at home before bringing them to C2 pod by Wednesday, 27 September. On this date we will begin to display them around the foyer and pond area. Learners must not bring candles or matches to school. If you have a small electric light to light up the lantern then is great but it will be daylight and we are looking at the decoration of the lanterns rather than illuminating them.
Different ways of making lanterns can be found via the weblinks below:
We will celebrate learners’ creations in school and use them as a basis on which to build their understanding of this key festival.

A bank of laptop charging lockers are now situated outside the IT office in C1 should learners need to charge their laptop during break or lunch. Learners have been provided with instructions on how to use the Computer Charging Stations via a short video.
