The Green Guardians were delighted to share their enthusiasm and work in our Nexus edible garden by selling the plants they have replanted in their personalised plant pots.
We sold all the plants which are now hopefully successfully growing in your homes!
All funds will be used to further develop the plants in the garden and to bring more plant sales to the community in the future.
We look forward to many more sales next term! Watch this space!
Thank you for your support.
Friday the 19th May was the final Year 13 IB examination, followed by the Year 13 (Class of 2023) Graduation Evening. The evening was planned and organised by the Year 13’s, led by the graduation committee, and hosted by the amazing MC’s Tobias and Arda. It was a lovely evening and a great chance to celebrate all this amazing cohort has achieved. After the formal ceremony in the auditorium, the guests mingled while being entertained by the Year 13 talented musicians. Good luck to the Class of 2023, you will be missed, but fondly remembered at Nexus.
A huge thank you to Danyil, Alex, Aldo, Leonor and Tomas for leading this concert. They had us singing along, tapping our toes and laughing at their jokes between acts! It was also lovely to see some Y9 and 13 learners getting involved too.
These learner led events are now a regular occurance in our calendar please look out for more next academic year.
Many thanks to all our young musicians that participated in this terms music recitals. It is always lovely to listen and celebrate our learners successes and share wonderful music with our community. The recitals continue to grow in popularity and this year we even split into Y1-3, Y4-6 and Secondary. It was a lovely afternoon of music.
International percussionist and global music expert, Andy Gleadhill from Percussion Plus, recently visited Nexus to run World Music Drumming Workshops for our learners.
During the sessions, our learners delved into the world of rhythm, learning techniques and discovering how to create unique sounds using different parts of the drum.
Through collaboration and creative exploration, our learners had fun discovering the possibilities that lie within the world of percussion.
Thank you to Y5, 9, 10 and 12 musicians
