Dear Parents and Guardians
I hope you have had a good week. It is hard to believe this academic year is nearly over already. I hope you feel your child has grown and made progress during this academic year and been able to take part in the many opportunities staff have provided and been able to embrace experiences that take them out of their comfort zone and help them grow further.
It was lovely to have so many of you online for the Q&A session and we thank you for all the questions you provided in advance. I would like to remind you all that there is a wealth of material in our Parent Zone area of the website that can help you understand our curriculum and grading and who to contact about different subjects. Term 4 reports for years nine and above will be published in the last week of term as will the MYP semester reports. We know it is confusing having grading for criteria out of 8 and then a final grade out of 7 and we do try and model this for you in the reports. The IB rubrics clearly show what a learner must be able to do for each level and those of you who joined our recent parent workshop to learn more about Mathematics know that we expect quite a lot from our MYP learners! Please rest assured that your child's prior learning will really support them to make the transition to the next academic year and any changes in curriculum.
I hope you are all able to spend some quality time together as a family this long weekend.
May this Vesak day bring you peace, happiness and good health.
Wishing you all a lovely long weekend
Best wishes
Dr Heather
