The core goals from The Strategic Plan 2019-20 will be reached through the elements of The Nexus Way. The goals emerged from all feedback received in various forms from all stakeholders and external parties in 2018-19. When reviewing the plan at the end of the academic year we found that great progress had been made but that the goals were all still relevant as we go forward to ensure that new ways of working are fully embedded.
We would like to introduce the new psychologist and counsellor to the Nexus community. Ms Bianca Kelly is a registered psychologist and qualified teacher who has worked as a school psychologist for the last 8 years in Australia, Singapore and Spain. She specialises in child and adolescent issues, working with individuals and families using evidence based strategies. If you are a parent who has concerns regarding your child and would like to book a session with Ms Bianca, then please do so via this confidential booking link. Learners in Secondary school may also book via this link: https://nexussupport.youcanbook.me/
Nexus is one of a very few licensed centres to operate the Award here in Singapore. Please read on to find out more about how your son or daughter can get involved in the world’s biggest youth development scheme.
Bronze Level - New participants in Year 9.
All Year 9 learners this morning attended a short presentation about an opportunity to do the Bronze Level of the Award this year. Parents and guardians of Year 9 learners will receive a letter early next week which will contain key information and explain the registration procedure.
Bronze Level - Participants in Years 10 and 11 who started the Award last year.
Those who completed the Adventurous Journey last year should continue to work on their Skill, Service and Sport. There is a regular Thursday break time drop-in session where they can meet with an Award Leader for guidance on how to complete their Award.
Bronze Level - Participants in Years 10 and 11 who have not already registered.
It may be possible for learners in Years 10 and 11 to join the scheme, but this will depend on the overall level of demand in Year 9. Please email us at intaward@nexus.edu.sg if your son or daughter is currently in Year 10 or 11 and would like to join the Award, provided that there are sufficient places available.
Gold Level - For learners in Year 12
Should there be a sufficient level of interest, we will offer an opportunity for Year 12 learners to take part in the Gold Level of the Award. Learners attended a presentation on the Award as part of their Induction last week, and should email our team by Friday 23rd August if they are interested.
Should you have any questions regarding the Award, please email our team at intaward@nexus.edu.sg
Thank you again for your patience with the new uniform supplier. We are working hard with the uniform suppliers to resolve issues and ensure that we have everything available for you to purchase as required.
When will I receive uniforms ordered last week?
Uniforms ordered last week will be delivered at the end of this week.
When will the PE uniforms arrive?
All PE uniforms will be delivered by mid-September.
How do I order more uniform items?
The website will be live by 26 August. You will then see a link on the Parent Zone on the school website. In the meantime, please try on for sizing in the NPG room and hand in order forms at reception. Your order will be delivered to school for you to collect. A few sizes are out of stock due to the demand exceeding production (see below). New stock for all sizes will be ready in September.
Out of Stock Items
Primary Polo 3 to 6 – Y12, Y14
Secondary Polo 7 to 11 – S, M, L
Due to high demand we are out of stock of the above items, but we are currently getting new stock made and will deliver mid-September. You may place your order but will not be charged until it is delivered.
Who do I contact about my order?
Please do contact Anthony (anthony@sagana.com.sg) if you have any queries. He is very responsive and will do what he can to help. I am working with Anthony to ensure that we improve communication with families so that you know when to expect deliveries.
