It has been another fantastic summer of new experiences and outstanding opportunities for our Nexus swimmers. Our swimmers finished off the school year with a number of bronze medals and a huge number of personal bests at the Neogarden Singapore National Swimming Championships 2019 which was held between 19 and 22 of June in OCBC Aquatics Center. Well done to our Senior Performance Squad.
A few weeks later, Carmen and Coach Ivan had a fantastic debut at the LEN European Junior Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia. Our “Spanish Rocket” had an absolute blast during the meet. Besides improving her personal bests, she managed to go from the preliminary heats through to the finals, getting consistently better, where she finished 4th and qualified for the World Junior Swimming Championships 2019 which will be held in Budapest between 20 and 25 August, 2019. The icing on the cake was the fantastic success of Carmen at the European Youth Olympic Games 2019 which was held two weeks later in Baku, Azerbaijan where she managed to earn a bronze medal and her second qualification in the 50m Freestyle for the Junior Worlds.
Another young rising star from Team Nexus, Jack, was absolutely brilliant at the Summer Irish Swimming Championships which was held in Dublin last week. Jack came home with 4 golds and a bronze medal. Boom!
We wish all our team success at the FINA World Cup and Carmen at World Juniors!
