We are delighted to announce the return of MADD Week, running as part of Diversity & Inclusion Week. All learners in Year 7 , 8 and 9 will choose workshops in Music, Art, Dance and Drama each morning, to explore the theme "Tell Your Story". The diverse range on offer means there's something for everyone.
The event will culminate in a MADD House competition on Friday, where learners will collaborate, communicate and create in one area of the Arts to represent their house!
Learners across the whole school will celebrate Diversity & Inclusion Week from the 23rd-27th May.
The theme of the week is 'Me-You-Us', encouraging learners to celebrate their own unique cultures, languages, beliefs, interests and skills, as well as recognise and show empathy for the characteristics of peers, and appreciate the value of us bringing this all together as a special and harmonious community. Similarly to all of our themed weeks, Diversity & Inclusion Week aims to nurture understanding and a desire to act upon one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals; we will focus on goal 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
To bring our musical year to an end the Secondary Orchestra, Wind Band and String groups plus some selected soloists will be bringing to you a concert on Wednesday 25 May in the Nexus Auditorium at 7pm. We have also invited some special guest teachers to join in too!

Since the huge earthquake in 2015, the Nexus community has held an annual 'Climathon'. The aim is to raise awareness and funds for the education and opportunities of women and girls in rural areas of Nepal. This is done through supporting the grass roots charity Pipal Tree. The charity is also building environmentally, sustainable community projects through reforestation and wildlife initiatives.
So....... limber up for the Nexus Climbathon 2022 on 2nd June. ALL learners will be involved.
The event will be organised and run by a group of Year 12 CAS learners. So watch out for the sponsorship forms and further information coming your way.
