Hello everyone! We are Revival, a group of Year 12 entrepreneurs who have been inspired by the Junior Achievement programme, overcame startup struggles, and finally succeeded at creating an ethical product we are excited to launch. All in just a few weeks!
This, is our story:
As students, we have heard a lot of stories and seen much evidence about how our planet is suffering one of the worst enhanced climate changes in history. We feel strongly about it, and therefore decided to repurpose our own carbon footprint, by making user-friendly bags with recycled canvas posters!
First of all, we got rolls of colourful canvas posters from the marketing department for the bag itself. Then, we cut out the outline of the Versa bags from the canvas carefully, one by one, in order to ensure the high quality of our products. In the meantime, to help more people, we contacted a Singapore local charity, and outsourced the sewing of our products to these ladies, who were domestically abused.
Finally, what makes this bag truly one of a kind, is that the Versa bag can be worn as a backpack and as a sling bag over the shoulder. Adjust the Versa bag to your preference! Thanks to the skillful ladies, the seams on the Versa bags are very neat and firm; at the same time, the words and patterns printed on the canvas make each bag look unique and fashionable in its own way! Last but not least, the Versa bags are also designed to have a laptop case with velcro strips at the bottom, which help the case to be immobilised in the bag.

Our newest Year 9 cohort successfully took part and completed their Practice Bronze Adventurous Journey last Friday and Saturday. They walked from the Bukit Panjang area through Chestnut Park, later taking the gruelling Summit path at Bukit Timah Nature reserve and reaching school via the Green Corridor. They cooked their dinner whilst setting up camp before settling down to sleep on what was a hot and steamy night.
The following morning they set off early, via the old railway link, Rifle Range road and Jelutong Tower before taking the boardwalk towards their Journey end point at MacRitchie Reservoir Park. They finished in good time, before buying a well earned cold drink at the Reservoir visitor centre where they tried to steer clear of some quite aggressive monkeys!
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is the world's largest Youth Achievement Award and is open to those aged 14 and above. If your son or daughter would like to get involved in the next cohort, please encourage them to email us at intaward@nexus.edu.sg
