It is always hard to say goodbye to learners and their parents, none more so than when a whole cohort leaves together! This week we farewelled our magnificent Year 13 learners as they graduated from school and embark on their new lives, often in different countries all round the world as they head off to universities.
The Year 13 graduates were thanked for their huge contributions to the life of the school and for their leadership in so many areas, from Music to Sport, Art to Drama. We look forward to receiving their results in July.
Two weeks ago the Year 10 learners returned from Ho Chi Minh, having spent five days working on various data collection activities for their IGCSE Humanities courses. It was a terrific trip and learners were excellent ambassadors for the school. A full report can be found here.
The event to introduce Our New School on May 15 was really well attended by parents. We were treated to a passionate presentation about the ideas and ethos behind this iconic development by the chief architect, Harry Hoodless. There were also opportunities to hear about the food and culture of the local area, the educational potential of the new building and to get a glimpse into some of the incredible facilities. There will of course be plenty of other opportunities to hear about Our New School in the next academic year.
Next week we have our annual Climbathon to raise money to support the victims of the 2015 Nepalese earthquake as they continue to re-build. See details here. Please do not forget that school is closed on Tuesday of next week for Vesak Day.
Warm regards,
Peter Hart, Head of Secondary
