Generation Me is all about exploring the talents and passions of learners that contribute to the diversity within our community. Through cultural storytelling, music, art, poetry, currency, texts, food and dance our curriculum will richly reflect a wide range of challenging and engaging activities across all year levels from K - Year 13 throughout the week. Workshops presented by the Disabled People's association for primary and secondary classes will share some of the challenges associated having a special need in order to promote a deeper understanding and empathy for others. Learners will participate in experiential workshops and interaction sessions with their Inclusion Ambassadors.
The whole school will celebrate our Nexus Nations at a morning assembly on Thursday 8th between 9am and 10am in the school gymnasium with musical performances and flag ceremony followed by cultural food and activity stalls on Level 2 from 12.30 - 2pm. Parents and friends are welcome to attend and volunteers for our stalls are still welcome to participate. All learners are encouraged to dress in colours/clothing that represents their identity.
Please email if you would like to help with the stalls at newman.m@nexus.edu.sg or sargent.v@nexus.edu.sg
The Year 8 learners are currently exploring an exciting interdisciplinary unit where they learn about life in Singapore before, during and after World War 2.
The English and Humanities departments would like to invite all Year 8 Parents to the ‘Stories of Singapore’ Exhibition in the Auditorium on 14th March 2018 from 2.00pm - 3.20pm. The exhibition will open with an informative presentation followed by a series of dramatic monologues that reveal what life was like in Singapore during this tumultuous time. Afterwards, the learners will showcase an extensive collection of their work in an exhibition in the area outside of the auditorium.
Learners used the skills they developed in both subjects to complete a broad range of activities and assignments including diary entries, letters, newspaper articles, mind-maps, research projects as well as an audio-visual presentation.
We are excited to share their impressive learning experiences and look forward to seeing you at the exhibition!
