We have enjoyed an excellent fortnight of activities, both inside and outside of the classroom. From the Year 8 Humanities Trip, to Years 9-12 Careers Talks, to the Years 7-9 Sports Day, it has been fantastic to see learners (and sometimes their parents) getting involved.
Reports and photographs of all these events are on the pages found by clicking the three horizontal lines at the top left of your phone screen.
Some of our more senior learners and parents went to SunTec for the University Fair last Friday evening. It was a really informative event - lots of universities from across the world alongside useful sessions such as 'How to write a Personal Statement' and pertinent information on applying to each country.
The highlight of the past three days has of course been 'Alice', the Secondary School Production. As a risk-taking community we are extremely proud of what has been achieved by a very talented cast and their ever-energetic director, Mrs Jenny Burgess. The play was performed in the Promenade style which meant that a necessarily small audience followed the actors as they moved the performance around the school site. The integration of technology to build atmosphere and tension was outstanding. Huge congratulations to the many people involved in all aspects of this groundbreaking production.
Next week is Diversity Week which includes the Nexus Nations Assembly on Thursday 8 March to which parents are invited to attend. Also on that day learners are invited to participate in a Cultural Identity Dress Up. Learners should wear something to school to represent themselves or their cultures. The following week is Book Week and there is also an opportunity to dress up on Friday 16, the last day of term with the theme: Read Across the Universe focusing on Science Fiction/Fantasy and Time Travel. Learners who do not want to dress up should wear full school uniform - these are not casual dress days.
Learners currently have access to the CCA Portal so they can sign up for Season 3 CCAs. Please encourage them to do so - our CCA programme has a huge range of options, both at school and off site. CCAs are a great way to learn new skills and make new friends.
Enjoy what will be a very busy final two weeks of term!
