From the Head of Primary

Another amazing fortnight in the Primary School. There are many highlights. Please take time to view the 'Recent Events' section to see all that's been going on and also check through the 'Upcoming Events'. Links at the top of this page.

Particular highlights have included the wonderful production of 'The Amazing Adventures of SuperStan!'. My thanks to our wonderful young performers and musicians, Ms Rachael and all the staff involved in putting on a great show! This week has seen the first Nexus 'R U OK?' Week. In Primary School we talked about how we must share our feelings with our friends, teachers and parents so that we can support each other through challenges and celebrate the good times. It was a very special week. A visit by the Blue Dragon Foundation for our Year 5 and 6 learners was also a powerful event. The learners found out about the work that the charity does supporting the street children of Vietnam.

The last two weeks have also seen a focus on the Swimming pool. Nexus continues with some remarkable achievements by the Team over the last two weeks including, a Top 3 finish by the team at the ACSIS High School Swim Meet and Nexus hosting swimmers across the island for the Nexus International School Wave 2 Swim Meet. Well done, to all the Primary learners that took part in either of these events. The FINA Star Swimmers Clinic was fantastic, with our swimmers having the opportunity to meet three young Fina World Champions and then three of our very own Nexus swimmers raced against those very same champions in the Fina World Cup at the OCBC last weekend - a stunning achievement; well done to Carmen, Regina and Paloma and their amazing coaches!

There is much coming up in the next two weeks too. In particular, we have CCA Season 2 starting on Monday, the Primary School Aureus recitals next Thursday and the ACSIS Season 1 Celebration Assembly on Friday. The Nursery and Kindergarten Christmas Marketplace takes place the following week, on Thursday, 7 December. See the 'Upcoming Events' section for details.

Please may I take this opportunity to let you all know that we have our hugely popular Primary School Learning Conferences on Friday 2 February 2018. This is a chance for parents, learners and staff to share individual learning journeys. On that day, the Primary School is closed and you and your child will be invited in for approximately an hour to meet the various teachers across the school.

Have a wonderful weekend.
