Carols by Candlelight

Our annual 'Carols by Candlelight' will take place on Tuesday, 12 December. We will be holding the same performance twice in the Nexus Auditorium during the NPG Christmas Fayre. The performances will be at 5pm and again at 7pm.

Learners who participate in the Secondary School Orchestra, Secondary Choir, Secondary Chamber Choir and Primary Choir will lead the performances and community carols. There will then be a short break for the performers to refresh and eat between the two concerts. Entrance to the auditorium will be by advanced registration of tickets only. You will receive an email in the coming week to register for your tickets. Learners performing do not need a ticket.

We invite all members of the Nexus community to join us in what will be a wonderful evening filled with festive treats, Santa hats, jingle bells and lots of carolling together!

All learners are expected to attend each rehearsal in preparation for the event.

Primary Choir - Carols by Candlelight

The Primary Choir will be one of the main performers at our annual Carols by Candlelight on Tuesday, 12 December. The choir will perform their own items as well as sing along with the Secondary Choir in leading the community Carols.

As this is the same evening as the NPG Christmas Fayre the learners will have some free time after school to enjoy the fair activities with their parents. However all Primary Choir members are required in the music pod (A2) from 4.20pm until 8pm. There will be 2 performances 5-6pm and 7-8pm and the choir will enjoy pizza and a movie in between (They must not leave the music rooms during this time.)

Music in Assemblies

Our music performances in assembly each Friday have been a huge success. Last week we enjoyed a whole Primary school collaborative performance of 'Count on Me' which had everyone singing and dancing, toes tapping and was a beautiful performance by all.

This morning the Years 3 to 6 Primary Choir performed in the Years 3 to 6 and the Years 1 and 2 Assemblies. The performances were a culmination of their hard work during rehearsals so far this year. The audience were serenaded by Coldplay's 'Viva la Vida' and the hit from the movie Moana 'You're Welcome!'. Each performance included solo performances with Enzo in Year 6 singing the opening of 'Viva la Vida' and a mix of rapper stars rocking out the rap in the midst of 'You're Welcome!' Well done to everyone involved.

Next week our Year 5 learners will lead the instrumental performances by showcasing what they have been learning in lessons so far on their Dood's.

Year 4 Carols Performance for the Bright Vision Hospital patients

As part of the Year 4 UOI, the learners have been working collaboratively towards a Christmas performance. All learners will visit Bright Vision on Friday, 8 December from 12-1pm for a Christmas performance to the Bright Vision staff and patients. Learners have been learning some well known Christmas songs and putting together some instrumental performances to cheer up the hospital's patients as they will be entertaining them with their joyous Carols.
