NPG

Welcome back everyone and happy new year!

We are looking forward to an amazing final year at the Pandan Valley campus.

A very warm welcome to all new families – I’ve been told by the admissions team that there 55 new learners to Nexus. Some new families might not read this note, so please can I ask all established families to make the newcomers welcome, point out the NPG Lounge and ask them to join our Facebook group.

Many new families attended our first informal NPG coffee morning on Thursday, 10 January. This provided a great opportunity to meet the Committee, the Senior Leadership Team and of course to mingle with other new parents.

Watch this space for news and information on upcoming workshops and social events. However, one event we are planning is the NPG Amazing Race, date to be confirmed, but most likely a Saturday afternoon in February or March. Can I call for expressions of interest please? This will be professionally organised and adjudicated by an outside consultant (meaning the NPG Committee can compete to win!!!). Teams will be four person, the entry fee per team will be $100 or less and we will organise causal drinks at the conclusion. Teams may include non-Nexus community members. Adults only. Lots of details up in the air but we just want to see how interested the Community is in this idea.

Weekly Yoga:

Join the NPG Yoga classes every Tuesday and Thursday after morning drop off. The classes will be run by the wonderful Lee from the WanderingYogi. In the open area near the Staff Room (ground level void of Pod D). Classes run from 8:35am to 9:35am. The cost is $20 per session. Classes are limited to 14 people. A minimum of five people is needed to run the class.

What to expect on Tuesday and Thursdays at NPG yoga?

Tuesday:Hatha flow - great for beginners to intermediates. Emphasis on alignment within poses and flowing between series of yoga poses. Breath is the key. Examples: Sun salutations, plank and side planks, warrior series, binds and inversions. No headstands.

Thursday: Yin - nourishing deeper fascia, bones ligaments and connective tissues. Suitable for everyone - great for runners, f45 boot camp goers, people recovering from injury or not that athletic. Does your mind and body need some stillness? This is the yoga for you.

Please contact Reinet at npg@nexus.edu.sg or Lee on +65 9186 7177.

Warmest wishes,
