The Learners Rock at NexFest

Friday's NexFest was an amazing musical extravaganza showcasing over 300 young musicians and all of the Nexus music ensembles. The array of talent and the stage presence of all our learners was incredible and we are very proud.

From our youngest learners in the Year 1 and 2 Singing Stars to our CAS learners in the final band of the event, the music took us on a journey from young Singer/Songwriters to the 80's; Jazz and back to Rap and Pop! There really was a Festival vibe in the house.

Our learners had been preparing tirelessly since January for the event, the number of hours in rehearsals is commendable and all their hard work paid off to bring us an amazing evening of music. Congratulations to everyone involved!

We would like to say a special thanks to all the teachers who assisted the music department in making the stage performances run smoothly. Our stage hands, teachers greeting the learners in the C1 pod and our runners around the stage assisted us throughout the evening. Thank you also to Mrs Cain, Mr Turner, Ms Janice, Ms Kerstin, Mrs Swinbourne and Ms Khatijah who assist with our music ensembles every week. Finally, to the amazing Clare Lambert and her music team of Mr Fordham, Mr Chris, Ms Eunice and Mr Tee for putting this all together!
