Dear Parents and Caregivers
What a busy 2 weeks we've had! Year 5 and Year 4 have had a wonderful time on their residential trips. The learners have returned with smiles on their faces and an ability to clearly articulate the skills they've developed. 5G presented a wonderful assembly today, sharing their experiences. Thank you to those of you that were able to join us.
Last week was Wellbeing Week. Wellbeing refers to the physical, emotional, social, and mental health of our children. The primary school years are a crucial time for children's development, and it is important to promote their wellbeing in order to support their growth and development.
Some great ideas for promoting wellbeing are:
Encourage physical activity: Children need regular exercise to maintain good physical health. Encourage them to participate in sports, outdoor games, and other physical activities.
Good nutrition: It is essential for children's health and wellbeing. Make sure they have access to healthy meals and snacks.
Foster positive relationships: Encourage children to build positive relationships with their peers, teachers, and family members. This can help them feel more connected and supported.
Teach stress-management techniques: Children can experience stress and anxiety, just like adults. Teaching them techniques like deep breathing or mindfulness can help them cope with stress.
Support their learning: Children who feel successful in their learning are more likely to have good mental health. You can support their learning by helping them with home learning activities and reading.
By prioritising the physical, emotional, social, and mental health of our children, we can help them to thrive and develop into healthy and well-adjusted individuals. The year teams have focused on Wellbeing in the News from the Year Groups this week, please take a look.
On the theme of wellbeing - we unfortunately have a lot of sickness in school at the moment. I have taken the opportunity to remind everyone of what happens if your child is unwell in school, in Important Notices.
We have lots of events coming up over the rest of the term, take a look at the Upcoming Events tab for some dates for your diary.
Have a restful weekend.
Best wishes
