An action packed workshop brought together nearly fifty learners from across the whole school to celebrate the start of the rehearsal process for our March 2019 production of the classic musical, The Wizard of Oz. With the palpable buzz and energy in the auditorium it’s set to be a cracking show.

It was wonderful to see many of our Primary learners being part of the experience as they were put through a series of exercises led by Mrs Peppiatt, Mrs Mweti and myself; by the end of the session a real sense of being part of a large ensemble had started to emerge and the excitement of developing the show had clearly begun.

Rock and Indie Festival 2018 at La Salle College of Art

Nexus School are delighted to have had two bands play at this festival. Featuring three live stages of mostly homegrown indie and rock bands, our two groups, Tears of Joy and Noise Nuisance played magnificent gigs. It was a pleasure to see the events unfold, from the initial tour of the venue, the soundcheck, the dressing room, to the performances. Well done to the following learners: Liam, Jack, Alex, Tobey, Kian, Victor and Claro. These Nexus learners are not only risk-takers and developing musicians, they also conducted themselves admirably: they were polite, calm, supportive of each other and excellent listeners.
