Music at Nexus

Music ensembles

Music ensembles have now been running for three weeks and our Primary learners have made an amazing start to the year with over 120 turning up to various rehearsals. If you currently learn an instrument, such as flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, drums, violin, cello and would like to join an ensemble please speak with your music teacher as we would like you to get involved!

Primary Choir: Years 3 - 6, Tuesday 7.30am to 8.25am

Primary Band: Years 3-6, for brass, woodwind and percussion, Tuesday lunchtime

Primary Strings: Years 3 - 6, violin, viola and cello players, Friday lunchtime

Percussion Ensemble: Year 5 - 13, Friday 3.30pm to 4.20pm (ideal for drummers)


Casio / Nexus collaboration: Open Mic Concert

On the 27th September, Casio are bringing their innovative instrument, the Grand Hybrid piano, to Nexus for learners to try. Learners from Years 4 to 13 can sign up to be part of an ‘Acoustic Open Mic’ event.

Wednesday, 27 September: Open Mic performance, 4.30pm to 5.30pm in the auditorium

From 3.30pm to 4.30pm, come and personally check out the Grand Hybrid to see what makes it unique as a digital piano.

Registration for tickets will be available soon and learners can come to the Music studios at lunchtime on Wednesday to sign up to perform.
