Learners have had the opportunity to choose what each provocation will be. For example, on the cheese mat, what type of rolls can we do, or on the spots, how can we move from one side to the other? They are taking it in turns to lead the class warm-up and showing us their skills on their favourite stations. Nursery took the beanbags on an adventure around the room and around their bodies!
Note: Please ensure your child has a water bottle and appropriate footwear (trainers only - no crocs or sandals are allowed) on PHE days.
Learners in Years 1, 3 and 4 have continued their Adventure Challenge unit and have been set increasingly difficult challenges that require them to problem solve, try an idea, reflect and try again. Whereas, Years 2, 5 and 6 have been deepening their knowledge about games and sports, reflecting on their decision making under pressure and collaborating with their team-mates.

Phase 1
Kindergarten learners have been refining their foundations in kicking, breathing and balance. For the intermediate group, learners continued to work on floatation, breathing, streamlining and kicking, with a view to becoming independent in the aquatic environment.
Phase 2
The advanced group learners have been refining their Breaststroke kick and developing the overall stroke coordination. The intermediate learners have been practising their foundations of floatation, streamlining on front and back, and exhaling underwater, with a view to becoming independent in an aquatic environment as soon as possible.
Phases 3+4
All learners have been working on breaststroke, backstroke and front crawl skills. They practised land based drills to improve their diving and turning techniques and develop muscle memory. All Learners also were encouraged to apply their skills in a competitive setting.
