We have lots going on to celebrate Earth Week next week. Take a look at the schedule above to see what will be happening. On Tuesday we are asking all learners to bring in their animal teddies so we can explore how climate change is impacting on all habitats and all creatures. On Friday, we are encouraging all learners to dress as insects to raise awareness of the importance of these awesome mini-beasts to eco-systems around the world.
Beach clean up registration and permission - please complete this by Wednesday, 21 April to get involved in the beach clean up.
Earth Week Swimathon
Throughout Earth Week, all primary classes will be taking part in a swimathon during their swimming lessons. This activity has been organised by a group of Year 4 learners in order to raise awareness of the importance of clean water.
After finding out that some children around the world don’t even have access to running water to drink and have to walk long distances to get clean water and then carry it home, they decided to raise awareness of how lucky we are. The learners are taking action to help the charity Books and Bread for Kenya, who support three communities in Kenya where people are in desperate need of basic resources.
We encourage you to consider making a donation after your class swimming to support our Year 4 learners in their efforts to help Books and Bread for Kenya.
Let's swim as far as we can this week. We will count all the laps and let you know how many we get on!
When: Tuesday ,27 April and Wednesday, 28 April
After the success of the Primary and Secondary Cross Country in Semester 1, we are organising an opportunity for our Nursery to Year 6 learners to take part in Inter-house Track and Field activities within their class group, on Tuesday, 27 April or Wednesday, 28 April.
All primary learners have been developing their athletics skills in their Health and Physical Education lessons for a range of track and field events. The Track and Field days will be an opportunity for all learners to put those skills into practice and 'have a go'. Activity rotations have been organised for each class to allow learners to participate in a fun and encouraging environment and work together for their house. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, parents will be unable to attend, but videos and photos will be posted to show the activities involved on the Track and Field days.
Tuesday, 27 April: Inter-house Track and Field activities for Year 3 - 6.
Wednesday, 28 April: Inter-house Track and Field activities for Nursery - Year 2.

We invite all Year 6 parents and guardians to join us for the Year 6 PYP Exhibition Kickoff. The Central Idea the Year 6 learners will be exploring is 'Individuals Grow By Challenging Their Personal Limits'.
We will be holding a Kick Off Assembly for learners which we will also stream online for Year 6 families to give everyone a further insight into what you can expect in the subsequent six weeks.
A google meet link will be forwarded to you next week so you are able to attend. We will record the assembly so you can watch it at a later time if you are unable to join us.
