Having fun in the FUN room!
Nursery have been going on Bear Hunts and following books they have read in the homeroom. Kindergarten learners have explored sculptures and other art forms both in the homeroom and in the FUN. In the images above, they are having fun creating circles in the spin chair, to match the circle art they are going to create.
Note: Please ensure your child has a water bottle and appropriate footwear (trainers only - no crocs or sandals are allowed) on PHE days.
Our older learners have been doing a mixture of Individual Pursuits and finding 'just right' challenges for themselves. Others have been exploring cultural dances in PHE and in the homeroom looking at how different cultures express themselves using other art forms. Year 6s are taking film production and dance performance to the next level, combining their physical skills and their new knowledge about film shots to create a final performance and product.
Note: Please ensure your child has a water bottle and appropriate footwear (trainers only - no crocs or sandals are allowed) on PHE days.
Younger learners have been introduced to foundation skills such as flutter kicking, streamlining and coordination. Learners are working on appropriate side breathing in front crawl and body position in backstroke. Intermediate and advanced groups have had opportunities to practise streamlining, rolling to breathe and side-kicking.
Through streamlining drills and coordination drills, older learners have been refining their stroke techniques in front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke. They practised flips which form the foundation for performing tumble turns and they also practised their diving from the blocks and from the pool deck.
