Good afternoon everyone,
Greetings from your happy but slightly cabin feverish NPG team. Nothing to report or discuss from our desk that you aren’t already bombarded with by government ministries and cable news. However, I do want to join the School’s senior leadership team and give a massive callout to the Phase 1 dad diagnosed with coronavirus for taking every possible responsible step in safeguarding our community. I actually can’t think of how this dad could have acted in a more caring manner, no doubt suffering the stress of coming down with the virus himself, thinking of his family and thinking of us. Thank you and we wish you a full recovery and one which we know will come soon.
I also want to give a call out to two particularly amazing NPG team members: Suse Lyons (NPG Primary School Liaison) and Reinet Doig for keeping the Facebook group discussions and posts moving. Reinet has been charged with building the Facebook group for over two years now and as a social media and communications consultant she is perfect for us. Reinet grew our numbers from 30-something to over 100 within a few days of taking the reins and now we sit at some 500. Suse has been posting thoughts and articles of interest for many weeks now, which serve the vital purpose of keeping our community thinking, moving, bonding and developing! Thanks guys, your spirit, energy and humour is more important than ever.
So, we’re almost there. The School is currently batting on through next week (sorry, for the cricket metaphor… as assistant cricket coach (under fabulous cricket coach Mr Graeme Massey) of our incredibly spirit U11 cricketers, I can’t help myself). We are almost there. Please continue to follow the School’s advisories to the letter (as these are coming from government sources) and we will emerge from these challenges together as an even stronger and tighter community.
Keep a look out on the Facebook page please, we are looking at possible virtual coffee discussions, if not next week, next term. Discussion themes anyone? NOT “corona”, “transmission” or “virus”.
Stay healthy and take care, but also keep in touch!
