As an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, our mission is to develop active, compassionate and lifelong learners and foster a distinctive set of attributes in everyone of our children. These qualities are embodied in the IB Learner Profile and prepare our learners to become responsible members of local, national and global communities and make exceptional contributions in their educational journeys and beyond.
In school, we regularly talk of the Nexus Values: Respect, Excellence, Communication, Integrity, Passion and Enjoyment. We share with learners what these values mean; how we can show them in our everyday interactions and how a focus on our school values helps us to develop the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. These are:
inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective
Do take a look in the 'Recent Events' section to see how we explicitly connect our learning engagements to the IB Learner Profile and help our children develop these attributes.
We are fully prepared for off-campus learning if it is required, but it has been wonderful to keep learning in a face-to-face setting. For our younger learners, the social interaction and collaboration that a school setting provides is particularly important for their emotional wellbeing. We will of course continue to update as and when necessary on the CoVid-19 situation and take decisions in a timely and thoughtful manner based on all the information and advice given to us.
A reminder to our Year 6 parents, in the absence of our Year 6 to 7 transition evening and events, we have added a 'Year 6 to 7 Transition' section to our Primary News. In this section you will find out about life in Secondary School and how we will support your child in their transition.
Wishing you all a pleasant weekend.
