Book Week
This year, Nexus Book Week has been a wonderful celebration of 'telling our stories.' There were many fantastic opportunities for our young learners to discover new genres and topics they may not have considered before, and to engage with literature in a fun and exciting way.
Visiting poet Sara Hirsch put on a dynamic performance of poetry in her assemblies and workshops, with learners already requesting to borrow her poetry book from our library.
The Lower Primary learners were lucky enough to work with author Pippa Chorley, creating crafts and participating in a writing workshops.
Neil Humphreys led lively and engaging workshops with the Upper Primary learners and held impromptu book signing opportunities for the keen readers and fans of his books.
The Book Fair in the Parent's Lounge was well received, with the venders kept very busy over the three days that they were here for. A special thank you to the NCG parents who spent many hours turning the Eduvation Hub into a wonderful story telling space that the learners absolutely loved.
With these events going on and so much more, it was lovely to end the week with one of the highlights, in which our learners transformed into their favourite book characters!
