We are excited to announce that our annual Book Character Dress-Up Day is just around the corner! This much-anticipated event is part of Nexus Book Week. It celebrates a love for reading, creativity, and fun as learners have the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book characters.
Event Details:
What: Book Character Dress Up Day
Who: Primary Learners, Secondary Learners, Staff
Date: Friday 7th March, 2025
Time: During school hours
What You Need to Know:
Start Planning Early: Help your child pick a character from their favourite book or series. This is a wonderful opportunity to revisit beloved stories or explore new ones!
DIY or Pre-made Costumes: Costumes don’t need to be elaborate or store-bought. Simple, creative, and homemade outfits are always encouraged!
Props: Small, non-distracting props that complement the character are welcome but should be labelled with your child’s name. Please avoid any items that could be considered unsafe or inappropriate for school.
Label Books: If your child brings the book featuring their character, please ensure it is labelled with their name to avoid mix-ups.
Tips for Choosing a Character:
Think about characters that inspire your child or connect to stories they love.
Look for characters with easily recognisable costumes or features.
Encourage your child to share their excitement about their character choice with classmates!
This day is always a highlight of the school year, and we can’t wait to see the creativity and excitement it brings. Thank you for your support in making this event a fun and memorable experience for all!
