Author and Illustrator Workshops: Learners from across the school will have the chance to meet with celebrated authors and illustrators, including Pippa Chorley, AJ Low, Jonathan Chan, Gary R. Gray Jr, Danny Jalil, Neil Humphreys, Trevor Lai and Karen Orlowski. We can't wait to hear their inspiring stories.
Whole School Buddy Reading: Learners will participate in an epic whole school buddy reading event on Friday 7 March, with learners from the Secondary School reading with our Primary School learners.
Primary Production: Storytelling is not limited to books! Our Year 5 and 6 learners will be taking to the seas to perform this year's production - Pirates of the Curry Bean! Book your ticket here!
And of course, don't forget to come dressed as your favourite book character on Friday 7 March! Visit our photo booth in the Level 3 Atrium to capture your creative costumes!
Primary Book Fair: Browse and purchase popular book titles for all Primary school ages. The book fair will be located on Level 3 Atrium and is open 8am to 4pm daily. Classes will be attending during the day. Parents are also welcome to attend during opening hours.
Book Week Activities: Reading fun galore! All Primary learners have an opportunity to choose from a series of exciting book related activities to complete with their class.
Celebrate our Book Week Poster Competition Winners: During library time, learners can collect their limited edition library bag and seed paper bookmark printed with the fabulous winning designs.
Reading Skills Parent Workshop: Parents of Nursery to Year 6 learners are warmly invited to the Parent Workshop: Developing Reading Skills for Primary-Aged Learners, on Wednesday 5 March from 8.30am to 9.30am in the Staff Lounge on Level 7. RSVP here.
Storytime Sessions: Learners from K to Year 4 will have an opportunity to meet our parent storytellers and listen to a favourite picture book that reflects the storyteller's culture.
Silent Book Club for Secondary Learners & Parents/Guardians : On Weds 5 March, drop by to enjoy quiet reading time. Bring a book or borrow a library book and join us 3:45-4:15 in the Level 4 Secondary Library. We won't be able to accommodate any primary learners in this event.
Book Week Challenges: Meme-a-book, 6-word story, Book Bento box and Picture This: You're the Cover are just some of the challenges secondary learners can get involved in. Full details in the Secondary Learner Bulletin.
Year 7 Team Up With Year 6: Whilst the rest of the school are enjoying buddy reading sessions, the year 6 and 7 learners will be teaming up to enjoy some spoken word poetry, as well as taking part in a big book quiz.
There is something for everyone this Book Week and we can’t wait to share this incredible celebration of reading and imagination with you all!
Our Nexus Beats bands are performing live at Blackbird Restaurant and Bar at Gillmann Barracks this Saturday 1-4pm. An event for all the family - so grab the kids (there's a fab playground); order some food, kick back and enjoy the awesome Nexus music!

On Wednesday the Young Musician of the Year Finals will take place. With over 150 entries, it was tough competition and we are really pleased to announce our finalists across the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced categories.
The event will take place in the Blackbox on Wednesday, 5th March at the following times:
Beginner to Grade 2 - 2.30-3.30pm
Grade 3-5 - 3.45-4.45pm
Grade 6+ - 5.15-6.30pm
Learners need to arrive 15 minutes before the start time for tuning and warming up. The music studios will remain open after school for the Grade 6+ category to warm up/practise.
Staff and parents are welcome to attend.
Whether you're a singer-songwriter, classical musician, garageband loops or notated composer, we welcome your music as we launch the first ever Nexus Young Composer of the Year competition.

We're so excited for Secondary Arts Week happening 10-14 March 2025. The week will showcase so much of the incredible performing arts talent we have in Secondary at Nexus.

As the week continues, we'll welcome in external judges to help us find Nexus' Young Performer of the Year for Dance and Drama.
The week concludes with our IGCSE and IBPD Showcases.

Nexus is launching the following two competitions in Drama and Dance. Learners may submit a video entry to any of the drama teachers. The best performers will be selected for the finals on the 11th and 12th of March where they will perform live for our guest judges who will decide who to crown this years best dancer and best actor. Submissions are open until the 3rd of March - Parents are very welcome to attend the performances. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to show off, and be recognised for your talent!
The learners are excited to celebrate their progress and learning. In order to do this, they will showcase their journey at the Community Project Fair on March 12th at 3:30 PM in the MPH. You are invited to come along and see first hand the exciting work your child and their peers are doing and how they are taking action towards meaningful change.
As we move into the Islamic month of Ramadan, we are delighted to invite you and your loved ones to join us for a memorable 'Ramadan Iftar Dinner' in our Level 5 Cafeteria.
This is an inclusive event for Muslims and non-Muslims alike and will be an opportunity for us to experience unity, reflection and shared experiences, embodying the spirit of togetherness that Ramadan encapsulates.
