Secondary News
A gentle reminder that school finishes at 12:00 midday on Friday, 15 December
As we have previously shared we have noticed many learners unable to participate in their swimming lessons because they have forgotten their kit.
To support our learners in taking part in the full curriculum offered, we will be providing spare swimming kit for learners that have forgotten theirs.
If your child needs to borrow a spare swim kit we will send it home with them at the end of the day and respectfully request it is washed at home and returned to us for other learners to use.
Primary Parent Learner Handbook
All learners in the Primary School are offered a fully inclusive, active and stimulating PHE curriculum. The PHE curriculum has foci such as Invasion games, Outdoor adventurous activities, Gymnastics, Athletics, Swimming, Dance and Health and Fitness. Learners work individually and within teams during these sessions. All learners learn the core skills of balance, coordination and physical conditioning. Nexus learners also engage in learning the value of teamwork and sportsmanship during their PHE lessons. All learners in the Primary School have a weekly swimming lesson.
Please note that PHE and Swimming lessons are compulsory. Learners who are unable to participate must have a medical certificate and will be expected to take a different role in the lesson (eg: timer, evaluator, team manager).
We currently run the MRT shuttle bus service connecting Aljunied and Matar stations to the school. The original intention when we first provided this service was for it to be a temporary service in the transition period when moving campuses. We have reviewed this and from Term 3 January 2024 this service will cease. We recommend families discuss with their children an alternative pathway to school. It is a 5-10minute foot journey that is safe and already used by much of our community. We suggest doing some practice walks this term in preparation for the upcoming change.
With the end of the semester approaching, we will be saying farewell to a few of our families as they relocate or return to their home countries. May I ask that if your family is leaving us, please complete a Withdrawal Form at your earliest convenience. The Withdrawal Form can be found on the Parent Portal or by clicking here.
