Nexus at the Gardens, was a spectacular evening of music held at the iconic Singapore Botanic Gardens. Despite the rain, thunder and lightning, our dedicated musicians powered on, delivering an inspiring showcase of talent performing an array of popular classics.
The evening opened with a show-stopping performance by the Secondary Choir and Jazz/Pop Ensemble, who brought the crowd to life with an energetic medley of Michael Jackson’s Beat It and Blame It on the Boogie.
To close the night on a high, the choirs from Years 3 to 13 joined forces with the Secondary Orchestra for a rousing ABBA medley. The audience was invited to stand, sing along, and celebrate in true Nexus spirit as we thanked “Nexus for the Music.” (even though this was under umberellas!)
So many of our Nexus staff, parents, and families came along to show their support, relaxing on the grass with drinks and picnics as they enjoyed the performances. Many were there early to collect their special addition 'Nexus picnic blankets'. The event was a true celebration of community and relationships—bringing people together through music, nature, and shared moments under the stars.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our incredible Music Team, AV Team, Marketing, Facilities, and the NCG for helping bring the entire evening to life. Your hard work and collaboration made this magical night possible.
Our Senior and Middle School MUN learners have worked tirelessly this year to develop their skills of diplomacy and public speaking at our weekly club as well as at a number of prestigious conferences here in Singapore. This club is a must for anyone in secondary with an interest in environmental, political, social and economical issues.
In February, our Middle School delegates attended the MY-MUNOFS conference at the Overseas Family School. They represented Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tunisia and New Zealand as they debated global issues such as addressing the effects of media censorship on freedom of expression and access to information, measures to mitigate the impact of the predicted African population explosion and ensuring the sustainable, fair and equitable use of the River Nile by Basin countries. The conference proved to be a great success and the learners came away feeling more confident about MUN procedures and their respective debate skills.
UWC-Dover hosted us for the final conference of the year with the theme of the event centred around Diplomacy, Dialogue and Development. A collaborative attitude and understanding of cultural diversity paved the way for a productive exchange of ideas, which ultimately resulted in a series of successful resolutions.
Well done to everyone involved this year - we are already looking forward to more MUN conferences in the next academic year.
Cameron Hutchison, Saudi Arabia
Vianca Barve, New Zealand
Emma Zhao, Tunisia

A group of Year 10 Learners who attended DOVERMUN: Minette Campion, Aditiya Kanakamedala, Tala Santos Raniesha Kumar.
Our Year 12 learners started the term with a special day for the Extended Essay. Learners had a full day to revisit the instructions and criteria of the EE, followed by time to work with their supervisor and subject specialist teachers. The day was capped off with some heartening advice from our Year 13 cohort, who have completed their EE journey.
Year 12 learners showed excellent engagement with the activities of the day and had an opportunity to make progress on their EE in preparation for important upcoming deadlines.
The Extended Essay is a core subject within the Diploma. It is a requirement to pass the EE in order to obtain the IB Diploma.
This year’s ski trip to Verbier, Switzerland was an incredible adventure in learning and sport! Partnering with the renowned ski company Les Elfes, our learners spent six unforgettable days on the slopes.
From mastering new techniques to tackling varied runs, they developed confidence and skills in one of Switzerland’s top ski destinations. Beyond skiing, the trip was a lesson in teamwork, resilience, and embracing the outdoors.
Thanks to our staff, Les Elfes, and our amazing learners for making this trip a truly unforgettable experience!
Congratulations to Greentopia!!
We are delighted to share an exciting update regarding our learner-led company, Greentopia, and their recent successful participation in an all-expenses-paid trip to Tokyo. Danyil, Rostik, Teresa, and Annabel, accompanied by Mr. Jim, had the valuable opportunity to engage and network with 20 talented teams from 12 countries across the Asia Pacific region. This experience fostered cross-cultural exchange and significantly broadened their understanding of the global business landscape.
Beyond the enriching networking, the students actively participated in a project management workshop, presented their learning journey, engaged in the interview process, and managed a trade booth in Tokyo city centre. Despite a demanding schedule, they also enjoyed experiencing elements of Japanese culture, food, and city sights.
This trip to Tokyo is a notable achievement for Danyil, Rostik, Teresa, and Annabel, reflecting their dedication and hard work. While there were no formal prizes awarded this time, we commend them for their excellent representation of Nexus International School Singapore and the Greentopia team on this international platform.
On Tuesday, 33 learners and staff went to see the musical phenomenon 'Wicked' at the Sands Theatre. The show was an incredible display of professional performance inspiring both learners and staff alike.
We had amazing seats in the stalls which allowed us to feel a part of the action on stage. Some of our learners even had the opportunity to meet the cast after the performance and ask them questions about their time in Wicked. A 'Wicked-ly' fun time was had by all!
