The Multi-Purpose Hall was alive with energy on March 12th as students showcased their hard work and dedication at the Community Project Fair. Parents and community members were invited to witness firsthand the culmination of weeks of research, planning, and action from our learners.
The fair saw students presenting a diverse range of projects, each aimed at creating meaningful change within our community and beyond. From environmental initiatives to social awareness campaigns, the students demonstrated a deep understanding of their chosen topics and a strong commitment to making a positive impact.
Attendees were impressed by the students' ability to articulate their project goals, explain their methodologies, and share the results of their efforts. The event was a testament to the students' hard work and the school's commitment to fostering engaged and responsible citizens.
This term, our learners have been inquiring into the important topic of global refugee movement and conflict. In an exciting interdisciplinary unit, combining Individuals & Societies and English, they've been learning about the complexities of these issues and showcasing their understanding by creating their own podcasts.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication in applying their knowledge and understanding to create these insightful podcasts. They've not only explored complex topics but also developed strong communication skills.
We invite you to celebrate their achievements by listening to some of their podcasts below:

On Friday 14th of March, 7B & 7R were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to listen and learn from a visiting lino printing artist, John Mathias, who works under the title of Tatsu Maker Works in his studio at Katong Point in Joo Chiat Rd. John explained how he gains inspiration from the local hawker markets and likes to capture images of people going about their purchasing interactions. He explained to the learners about reductive printing and how he works with several independent plates to produce editions of prints. Our learners were able to ask meaningful questions, which was especially helpful as they are about to embark upon designing their own large square piece of lino to represent patterns from their home cultures. They gained valuable knowledge and insights to help prepare them for their own lino designs.
