At Nexus we provide a high quality Instrumental Music Programme that is designed to help develop your child’s passion and skills, in all stages of their musical journey. The Music Department has some amazing features, including 15 fully sound-proofed instrumental teaching rooms, a recording studio and several performance spaces throughout the school.
Our music teachers are all highly qualified and experienced. At Nexus, we ensure that our teachers maintain a high standard of teaching and professionalism and are in line with the Nexus vision of a holistic education. We want our learners to thrive under their tuition. Our tutors are a mix of local and overseas Instrumentalists who by day teach at a range of International School and in the evening or weekends can be found amongst the music scene within Singapore whether that be at the SSO, an orchestra pit at MBS or jamming out at the Esplanade!
Lessons will commence from Monday 23 August 2021.
Please register for our Instrumental Lessons by completing this online form. After registering successfully, you will then be contacted directly by the respective Instrumental Tutor. Once contacted, you will enter into a private contract with the tutor.
We are still working under strict COVID-19 regulations and therefore continue to monitor our programme to ensure the safety of our learners and tutors.
Should you have any questions, you are welcome to contact me anytime at music@nexus.edu.sg.

Head of Music
At part of our initiative to ensure that everyone is still able to sing together we launched our 2nd "Everyone Can Sing" campaign at the end of last year. I'd like to thank all learners and families who participated in the 'Reach' final video, we had lots of fun during our online sing alongs and compiling the video for our Nexus community. Please share the link with family and friends.
Just before school closed due Heightened Alert we were just about able to video our Instrumental Music Recitals in the new auditorium. For many of our learners this was the first time they have performed on a large stage and although we were unable to invite families and friends to share in the wonderful music we hope that these videos will enable you to celebrate your child's learning journey.
At Nexus we encourage all learners regardless of ability and age to take risks and build valuable and positive performing experiences through music. Whether you have lessons inside or outside of school we encourage you to get involved, just watch out for notices on the Learner bulletin and future newsletters.
Nexus music can be located on level 1, entrance by the football pitch. Over the summer our corridors have had a facelift, we had purchased new instruments and our music studios are ready to go! As well as classroom music where you will find Mr Chris, Ms Tash, Mr Fordham or Ms Lambert teaching your child we have 15 music studios a rehearsal room, 3 band rooms and a recording studio. Our music department is a lively and vibrant place to be where many learners opt to come during break or lunchtimes. i have attached some recent photos so you can imagine your child in this environment making music. We hope that very soon we will be able to welcome you into our department so you can hear the amazing music with our young musicians make daily.
