Dear Parents and Guardians

As we wrap up this busy and successful term, we wanted to share a few of the highlights of our CIS/WASC preparatory evaluation with you.

We were delighted that our evaluators picked up on the strong sense of community and effective implementation of the RECIPE and Nexus Way. They acknowledged Taylors' strong sense of commitment to the school and our shared vision for the best education for your children. Our evaluators felt our curriculum was well documented and developed the whole child and that our use of restorative practices supported the well being and emotional growth of our learners. Most importantly they described our children as happy and engaged learners who knew what they are learning and why they are learning it and were sufficiently challenged through a range of experiences. The pages of this final newsletter of 2020 certainly highlight how vibrant and exciting learning is at Nexus. Christmas Pantomines, Online Carol Concerts, Virtual Eco Tours, Cross Country Competitions, and Poetry Slams are just some of the recent events taking place at Nexus.

As with all evaluations, there are targets too. We need to make our safeguarding work more visible to the school community and beyond and ensure all our learners know what to do when they have a concern. We will continue to seek your feedback as we go forward and endeavour to build on the excellent work the teachers, learners, administrative staff, Nexus Community Group and parent community are already doing to make Nexus an even better school.

We were excited to hear Singapore will be entering Phase 3 on Monday, 28 December. We will be working during the break to look at what this means for us as a school and community. Please look out for communication from us before term resumes on Monday, 11 January 2021. In the meantime if you are able to obtain the government token for your child please do so as we will be moving towards using these in Semester 2.

To learners and families leaving us this term, we wish you all the very best for the next adventure your family takes.
