We like to keep things as simple as possible, however as the performance is on a stage, makeup is required. The stage lights will wash your performer out and makeup is needed so that their facial features are visible to the audience.
Female students must have their hair securely tied in a bun, unless otherwise specified by the teacher. Male students need their hair styled neatly away from their eyes with gel or mousse to hold it in place.
Do not attempt to make a bun and hope it will last without using the following:
Bun net (spidery type net)
Open-ended pins (also known as French Pins)
Bobby pins
plenty of spray, gel or mousse.
Buns should not be too high. Work from a pony tail in the middle of the back of the head. NO BANGS for any dancer.

Keep make-up colors neutral with a bright red color for lips to help define them.
Makeup for this group is pink blush, pink lipstick, and light pink, light brown, or light grey eyeshadow (if they will let you!). Hair for girls will be a bun in the middle of their head - not too high and not too low. Dancers with short hair should pull it into two small buns, and use a headband and gel to make sure there are no flyaway bits. Boys need blush and pink chapstick or lipstick.

Students need to bring ALL COSTUMES (remember shoes, stockings, socks, etc.) with them in a costume bag to DRESS REHEARSALS. Dance shoes are to be clean with no marks and tights should not have holes! Teachers will let students know via class which costumes they need to put on first, check with your child that they do know well before the performance day.
Please
OTHER ITEMS FOR A SUCCESSFUL SHOW:
If your child MAY require any medication, you MUST provide it in a zip lock bag which is carefully and obviously named. This must be brought with you to rehearsal and kept in their dance bag.
Instructions on how to administer medicine must be included, as well as the best mobile contact number for use during the performance. THIS PHONE MUST BE PUT ON SILENT AND ACCESSIBLE THROUGHOUT THE PERFORMANCE. First Aid will only be administered by qualified first aiders.
Each student should have a labelled bottle of WATER (no juice, milk etc. as it stains costumes). It is also advised that students have snacks to help maintain their energy levels throughout rehearsal day and Performance day.
Suggested snacks are: Raisins, dried fruit, plain popcorn, pretzels, dry biscuits (such as savory Ritz or a sweet yo-yo). Snacks not recommended: Potato chips, any drinks apart from water, nuts and nut products, chocolate, anything messy that will stain costumes.
