When there are clear routines most children feel calm and safe. You may want to consider the following when setting up these routines:
Discuss and write the structure of the day - try to stick to them. If they don't work - review and adjust.
Break the day up into a number of activity sessions - depends on the age of the child.
Activity session can range between 15-40 minutes - depending on the activity and the age of the child. Try to extend the activity time longer e.g. if 5 minutes of concentrating is hard, celebrate 5 minutes and try 6 minutes the next day.
Balance work and play. Have some downtime e.g. watch a movie and do nothing.
Set time out to give them attention or do "mindful activities".
Have short fitness/moving breaks to keep developing focus for gradually longer times.
Give yourself as parent/caregivers time out (“me time”) during the day.
Have strong limits on the use of devices!
You do not have to organise “every minute” of the day. Children can learn to entertain themselves without devices.
