I’ve always been a planner but how do you plan for remote learning in the middle of a global pandemic and racial unrest? I knew that if I was feeling the stress, my students and their families were too. There were so many challenges with remote learning, so I focused on three things: consistency, stability, and high quality. My students deserved that, and as a teacher, I needed support too. In the midst of what has felt like complete chaos, New Visions’ educator community and remote learning resources have been essential anchors for me. New Visions helped me build high-quality class routines, and tools like the Teacher Planning Notebook created consistency and stability for me and my students. This also freed up my time to support my students’ personal needs, even though I couldn’t be with them in person."
