Meet Tony Banson
I want to see a change in the world, and now I know it starts with me. I am the change. Among the many lessons I learned this summer through the New Visions Career Exploration Program, this was the most personal. Together with other New Visions students, I participated in a project to think through ways to help formerly incarcerated people re-enter society. We researched and talked to experts in the field, and presented solutions, like skills training and educational opportunities, to our project mentors. It felt powerful to use my voice, and to advocate for change. During the four-week virtual program, I also created my first resume, learned the importance of networking, and gained tools that I know will help me succeed in the world of work."
