Grading

Since this isn’t your typical class, it makes sense that our grading philosophy looks different than other classes. Rather than solely basing your student’s grade on categories like Quizzes and Homework, or specific assignments your student will be evaluated as a novice low language learner.  The grade they recieve will reflect their effort in class, and their attempts at speaking within the themes structure, their participation and being willing to try.  I do not expect them to be speaking in full sentences, just being able to recall and repeat words and it will always be done within the themes structure with lots of prompting from pictures, gestures, and sign language.  

If you see that your students effort scores are low this is due to them being off task and not following expectations.
