What is the role of an intermediate School Counselor?
Teach developmentally appropriate social emotional lessons to all students. Lessons focus on a variety of topics such as strengthening communication skills, relating to others and career exploration
Provide individual and small group counseling dealing with self-image, personal & interpersonal concerns, and academic development.
Provide assessment by helping students identify their skills, abilities, achievements, and interest through counseling and guidance activities.
Provide consultation with teachers, administrators and staff
Make appropriate referrals for special services for students and families within the school and community.
Help ease the transition between elementary and intermediate school and orient new students to Reed.
