Click on the 'down arrow' icon to view the screenshot for each of the step.
Note: This is a free version of Kami. It is not compulsory for lecturers to use Kami when marking assessments.
Click on your subject and on the dashboard, click Classwork.
Choose the assessment that you would like to mark.
Example: Click on Assignment 1 and click View assignment.
Tick '✔' on the Grade with Kami.
Kindly refer to the following:
Cursor Tool: The cursor allows you to interact with the embedded text on the document and the annotations that you have created. For example if you wish to copy and paste text from the document or if you wanted to change the modify an existing annotation, then you would use the cursor tool.
Mark-Up tools
Text highlighter: Allows you to highlight text throughout a PDF. You can hover over the annotation to change the color and copy the text on the page.
Free hand highlighter: You can free draw within the document.
Box highlighter: You can free draw within the document.
Strikethrough: The Strike-through Tool allows you to strike through text. This is most useful for those editing or proofreading a document. (How to use: Ensure the Strike-through tool is selected, then click-and-drag over the text you wish to annotate.)
Underline: The underline tool can be used to help emphasize a point or draw attention to the area. (How to use: Ensure the Underline tool is selected, then click-and-drag over the text you wish to annotate.)
Text Box: When you create a text-box, or if you click into an existing one; you'll see a toolbar with a variety of functions, similar with word processing applications such as Google Docs or Word.
Drawing: This tool allows for freehand drawings to be placed anywhere on the document, perfect for drawing attention to key ideas for emphasis. (How to use: The Drawing tool can be used with either a stylus or with the mouse/trackpad on the device. The stroke thickness and transparency can be adjusted on the tool's settings just to the left of the tools.)
Shapes: This tool allows you to draw shapes on your PDF. This tool is ideal for marking areas that need to be quickly recognized. This tool allows you to mark with circle, square, and line shapes. The size, color, and transparency of the shapes can be adjusted.
Enter the student's marks and click Return.
Note: Students will only be able to view the marks; not the marked assessment unless the students install Kami as well on their end.
Once you have complete the assessment marking, click on the Download icon located in in the upper right corner of the menu bar.
Note: You need to manually download each of the student's assessments from Kami.
This will bring up the Export menu where you can select the form you wish to export the document in.
Types of files you can export
Original - No Annotations: Export the original version of the file without any changes. This can be used a as quick way to clear annotations from a file if you need a clean copy of the document.
With All Annotations (PDF File): Export the file with all the annotations you created. Selecting 'With Annotations' will give you more options, such as flattening the annotations, which embeds the annotations into the page so they cannot be edited. You can also select specific pages to export or choose to only export pages with annotations added to them.
Annotations only Export: Export only the annotations from a file. This method can be used to keep a set of the annotations as notes if you do not want the full document to refer back to, such as if the annotations are a summary of the content.
Example:
Export to Your computer.
For Option, choose With all annotations.
Edit the File name (if any)
Select All Pages and click Begin Export.
Note: All files exported from Kami are in PDF format.
