Assignments: This is a homework assignment or project for a student to complete. Include instructions and optional attachments. These assignments are graded manually with or without a rubric.
Quiz assignment: A quiz assignment has an associated Google Form. This allows for some questions to be automatically graded.
Question: Single quick survey question. Ask a short answer or multiple choice question. No grading or points awarded for this question.
From the Classwork page, click the Create button and select Assignment.
Within the assignment, enter the Title and fill in Instructions (Optional) and assignment details including Points value, Due date and Topic.
In your instructions, inform the students to complete the assignment using the attachment provided on Step 4 as the attachment already included the student's name as the title of their Google Docs.

Students can view file: use when the file is for reference only. View access doesn’t allow students to make changes.
Students can edit file: use when students will work collaboratively on the same file. Edit access allows all students to modify the same file. With the edit option selected, students can make changes to each other’s work.
Make a copy for each student: use when students will work individually in copies of the same file. (Lecturer are required to choose this option when assigning assessments to students.)
Given this, inform the students to complete the assignment using the attachment provided (Students will not required to create a new file when submit the assignment).
For: Select the class and students to which you want to assign the assignment. You can create an assignment for multiple classes at once or assign it to only specific students in the current class.
Note: if you assign to multiple classes, you cannot target specific students.
Points: Assign the number of points awarded for the assignment. Or, mark the assignment as ungraded.
Due: Select optional due date and/or time.
Topic: Organize assignment under an optional topic.
Rubric: Include an optional rubric to indicate how the assignment will be graded.
Use the submit button to Assign now, Schedule for another time, or Save draft to assign later.
