Orchestra

Orchestra (grades 6, 7, 8) meets twice during our 6 day rotation during the extension time periods (the middle of the school day). In order to be in the All-City Orchestra or audition for Junior Districts your student must be enrolled in the school Orchestra and attend regularly. Folders for Orchestra will be kept at school for easy access. Photocopies of music will be sent home with students for practice. Regular at home practice is an expectation of all members. Playing one of the following instruments is a prerequisite to join: violin, viola, cello, double bass (ensemble opportunities for pianists is extremely limited. Please get in touch with Ms. Nelson if you are interested in playing piano in a school ensemble) . If your student is interested in joining, but does not yet play an instrument, please get in touch with Ms. Nelson for a list of private instruction resources. Each student will receive a grade on his/her report card at the end of each term based on rehearsal participation, practice records, and our two concerts.

Orchestra meets on day 3 during extension 1 & 2 and day 6 extension 2 & 3.
