This list is some ideas, not concrete steps.
Speak for policies that support mental health, resource accessibility, and respect. You can mention it to a school principal or a member of the Student Government.
Share your experiences (if you're comfortable) as it can help challenge stigmas about mental health and spark others to share their story.
Participate in surveys or provide feedback to leaders of your school or neighborhood.
Organize awareness campaigns - put poster around the school, host events, plan information sessions, etc.
Be a good listener, offer an ear to friends who might be struggling (but make sure to take care of yourself first!)
Learn about mental health resources and tell others who may need it.
Promote kindness and respect by actively contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.
Participate in peer support programs if your school has them(maybe suggest creating one to a school leader) and consider becoming a peer mentor or helper.
Discuss your child's overall well-being, not just academic performance with their teachers.
Encourage children to talk about their feelings and challenges.
Take advantage of academic/mental support and utilize resources the school provides such as learning centers, school counselors, etc. (If your school is lacking, consider advocating for change!)
Borrow and share resources by making use of school libraries and learning materials and pass it on to peers.
Incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) into the curriculum and help students develop essential life skills.
