South Newton High School school counseling department addresses students' developmental needs, focuses on prevention, serves as an advocate for every student, uses data to drive the program design, evaluates the counseling program annually and follows the ASCA ethical standards. We believe that all students deserve sound educational and career guidance so they can develop meaningful educational and career goals. Graduates of South Newton High School are responsible and productive citizens that allow them to become lifelong learners in the 21st century world.

The mission of the South Newton School Counseling Program is to enable all students to experience long-term educational success by providing equitable access in the area of academic, career & personal-social development; counseling students to overcome barriers that interfere with learning; and advocating for an environment that supports all our students. Through the SNHS school counseling program, all students become successful learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of society.
