About Track and Field
Track and Field is a boys and girls sport for people who love or are interested in running. There are many different events that one can run in, including assorted sprints, distance races, hurdles, field events, and more!
Sprints
There are five different sprinting events offered at our school; the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash, the 400 meter dash, the 4x100 meter relay (four people running 100 meters), and the 4x200 meter relay (four people running 200 meters). There were 32 people who competed in the 100m dash; 11 boys and 21 girls. There were 6 people who competed in the 200m dash; 5 girls and 1 boy. There were 4 people who competed in the 400m dash; 2 girls and 2 boys. There were 6 teams for the 4x100m relay; 3 girls teams and 3 boys. There was one girls team for the 4x200 relay.
Distance
The two distance races offered at our school are the 800m and the 1500m. There were 6 people who competed in the 800m run: 4 girls and 2 boys. There were 4 people who competed in the 1500 run: 1 girl and 3 boys.
Hurdles
There are two hurdle races offered at our school: the 55m 30” hurdles race, and the 200m hurdles race. There were 7 people who competed in the 55m 30” hurdles race: 2 boys and 5 girls. There was one girl who competed in the 200m hurdles race.
Jumps
There are three different jumping events offered at our school, the High Jump, Triple Jump and Long Jump. There was one person who competed in the high jump. Eight people competed in the triple jump, 1 boy and 7 girls. Finally, 28 people competed in the high jump: 10 boys and 18 girls.
Throwing
There are two different throwing events offered at our school, shot put and discus. There were 9 people who competed in shot put 3 boys and 6 girls. There were 6 people who competed in discus 5 boys and 1 girl.
Summary
The New Paltz track team had an overall great season and did really well in their meets. They had two wonderful coaches, Coach Cosh and Coach Batina. Several personal and school records were broken. Congratulations to everyone who ran and participated!
The Baseball Team

Intro
Baseball is a popular sport that started in the 1830s and has been a household entertainment ever since. This beloved sport has captured the heart of many young athletes and some aim to end up in the major league.
Our Team
Our team has been having a great year and has won most of their games. Players report that they expect to win about two thirds of their games which is pretty good, all things considered. They will play teams like Kingston, Red Hook, Marlboro, and Rondout. Overall, they expect to have a great season and will have a great time playing.
Softball

Do you play softball? Well there are a lot of great players in our school. Our NPMS softball team is undefeated so far. So far they beat Red Hook 8-3, Onteora 18-1, Marlboro 18-1, and Kingston Miller 11-8. There are RBI’s credited to Evelyn Gates (4), Scarlette Frey (4), Anebel Place (4), Hope Goodnow (1), and Morgan Langer (1). The NPMS softball team is on a roll! You should go ahead and check out one of their games.
